The VGA/640 was a late budget 8-bit VGA card from STB Systems. With a maximum memory of 256 KB it supported resolutions of up to 800 x 600 in 16 colours and 640 x 480 in 256 colours.

I have no information on board revisions for the EGA Plus.

 

Competition

Since this was a card released long after the VGA standard, the market was awash with alternatives. The VGA/640 was most likely produced as a very low-budget VGA card to support those late to the VGA party. The fact it's an 8-bit card would have also appealed to owners of XTs and compatibles.
