IMPORTANT -- For OS/2 2.11 Service Pack Users
---------------------------------------------
If OS/2 2.11 Service Pack is installed and your system has a W32 chip
you MUST modify the installation procedure as follows, or your system
will hang. This is not necessary for W32i and W32p chips. If you
don't know which chip your system has, it is recommended that you
follow the modified instructions to avoid problems.

  1) Follow steps 1-7 as described in the Installation Instructions
     section.

  2) For step 8 select INSTALL USING DEFAULTS FOR MONITOR TYPE.

  3) Skip steps 9 & 10.

  4) Follow steps 11-15.

This will install the driver using the default refresh rates.
If you wish to change the refresh rates you can now reinstall the
driver as described in the refresh rate section.

Building the OS/2 Installation Diskette
---------------------------------------
Before you can begin the OS/2 display driver installation, you must
build the OS/2 installation diskette from the files supplied by
Hercules.

  1) Copy the OS2_21.EXE program to your hard disk.

  2) Put a blank formatted floppy disk in your floppy drive (A: or B:).

  3) Type A: or B: [enter].

  4) Important: Change the floppy disk volume label to TSENG 1.
      Type:
LABEL [enter] (LABEL.EXE should be in your DOS directory)
           TSENG 1 [enter]

  5) Run the OS2_21.EXE program from your hard disk (eg. C:OS2_21.EXE).
This program will self-extract all the files and put them on your
     floppy.

  6) This is your OS/2 installation diskette.

WIN-OS2 Full Screen Refresh Rates
---------------------------------
To set a refresh rate of 72 Hz for 640x480, 800x600 and 70 Hz for
1024x768 for WIN-OS2 full screen, do the following:

  1) Copy VMODE.COM from the OS/2 installation diskette to your
     utilities directory.

  2) Add the following commands to autoexec.bat
        C:\UTIL\VMODE 72HZ
        C:\UTIL\VMODE 48K
        C:\UTIL\VMODE 72M
where C:\UTIL is the name of your utilities directory
     containing VMODE.COM.
