The CS4297 is an AC'97-compatible audio codec. Its full name is CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Codec '97. It is supposed to be paired with something like a CS4610 audio controller.
The CS4297 Audio Codec ’97 and CS4610 PCI Audio Accelerator were the first members of the SoundFusion family.
