Just like the Waverider Pro 32-3D PnP, the Platinum 3D PnP came with an onboard wavetable synthesizer in the form of the SEC (Samsung) KS0164 and a 1 MB ROM that holds the samples.
I could well believe these two cards are identical (they both have the same FCC ID), and the Platinum branding was simply a means to bundle the card with some application or game software.
