Since the Base 64 was the same sound card as the Base 1, if you're looking for information on the card itself go to the dedicated Base 1 page for details. Here I'll focus on the Wavesystem 64 wavetable daughterboard that came connected to it.

The Wavesystem 64 was a hardware synthesizer based on the Dream SAM9503 with a 1 MB ROM from Crystal called "CleanWave 8" for samples. This included 287 sounds and 8 drum kits, which included a SFX kit. It had 64 DSP 'slots' divided into 48 hardware parts and an effects processor. The effects processor comprised 8 echo types (reverb, echo, etc), 8 chorus types, and a 4-band parameterisable equaliser.
