Maestro 32/96
The Maestro 32/96 was released in late 1996. It was based on the Crystal CS4232 audio codec as well as a Dream SAM9233 DSP for onboard wavetable audio.

Compatible with Ad Lib, Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro, Windows Sound System 2.0, GM/GS General MIDI via the onboard wavetable, wavetable header for a daughterboard, or Game/MIDI MPU-401 (UART) port.
The card comes with a built-in wavetable via its Dream SAM9233 chip, but in addition to this, the 32/96 also came with the Dream SAM8905-1 effects processor. The SAM9233 uses a variant of Roland Sound Canvas sound fonts. The CS4232 provides the card with its Windows Sound System 2.0 compatibility.
The FM synthesis is, sadly, only emulated within the Dream SAM9233 chip which has Crystal's own flavour of OPL3-compatible FM synthesis. You can read more about this in my Orchid NuSound 32 PnP review, which shares the same chips (except no 8905 effects processor).
Use the non-amplified Line Out for better Signal-to-Noise.
