The ELSA Winner 1000/T3D used the S3 Trio64 3D/2X 128-bit graphics accelerator chip. With the 3D/2X, S3 doubled the supported memory size to 8 MB and leveraged system memory for texturing; an odd architecture choice since 8 MB should have been more than enough for both frame buffer and textures. It was also S3's first accelerator to support AGP 2x alongside PCI 2.1. While Trio 3D/2X was an improvement in terms of 3D compatibility (they removed the multiplicative alpha blending that was problematic on the Trio3D), it was a poor performer for early 1999 (outperformed even by S3's own ViRGE/GX), largely based on the outdated ViRGE while S3 frantically continued work on Savage3D.
The Trio64 3D/2X ran its core clock at 90 to 100 MHz with memory running at between 100 and 110 MHz. Its embedded RAMDAC ran at 230 MHz.
The chip supported resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 in 256 colours, 1024 x 768 in 64,000 colours, or 800 x 600 in 16.7 million colours, all at an 85 Hz refresh rate. While it could also use 1 MB or 4 MB of video memory, ELSA opted to create a 2 MB card with no option to expand.
The "Scenic Highway" feature connector at the top refers to an optional MPEG-1 audio/video decoder card which has the S3 Scenic/MX2 chipset on it.
For DOS, it had support for VESA VBE 3.0 extensions in the BIOS.
