UMC

UMC are a motherboard chipset manufacturer for PC compatibles. They also produced some CPUs under license from Intel before designing their own.

 

 

UM82C088

The UM82C088 is a PC/XT Integration chip - basically a single-chip chipset for XT-compatibles.

It was a direct clone of the Texas Instruments TACT80101.

A chipset designed for 286 or 386SX PCs.

The '210 consisted of 3 chips:

  • UM82C211 - System Controller
  • UM82C212 - Memory Controller
  • UM82C215 - Data /Address Buffer

Called "Twinstar", this was a 386 chipset.

 

UM82C390

This was an 80386 chipset that supported 40 MHz processors such as the Am386DX-40.
