STB Graphix Plus

Also common to many graphics cards in 1984, this one provided a parallel printer port too, and a cost-option to fit a clock/calendar daughterboard - something PCs at the time did not automatically have.

STB also claimed this one ran at a 50% higher clock than IBM's standard CGA card, eliminating the annoying flicker or "snow" that was a common problem.

I have no information on board revisions for the Graphix Plus.

Competition

Lots of third parties were attempting to compete with the very expensive IBM Color Graphics Adapter (CGA) board in 1984, adding what they could to differentiate their cards from others.
